On Jun 19,2006 I was taken to Jamin Endathur by a broker to be shown a site which he said was suitable for a wasteland restoration project.
We got off the road and began to walk through another property -which was quite green- toward the site
Emerging out of that agricultural property, the land got barren and rutted with trafiic. I was beginning to see a hill in the distance. Vellimalai, it is called. It gripped my attention. When crop fields were behind me, it was Vellimalai that held court in the west. For me it was love at first sight. Drawn towards the hill I could see the land grazed out, barren, gravely and eroded. But the expanse had a majesty. It invited me with promise of a challenge.
This was the hill up close. It was quite green overall. I had walked about 2000 ft from the road and foot hills were 10ft higher than there. Its solitary grandeur made me decide it was where the pointReturn adventure would begin.
